Lightsaber Blade Color Symbolism???

Awhile back i came across a site that talked about the Colors of the blades, we all now that red is for badguy and blur or green is for good guy, but why?
this site told you why, and i lost it, anyonw know where i can find this info agian?
I do remeber why the red is used by the Dark jedi, the cristals used are vary rare and vary vasatile, you need to rely on the force almost 100% to get the saber build so it will not explode when you try to turn it on.
the Green and blue crestals are comon and the sabers are easyer to build you do not have to rely on the force all the time to get the saber working top notch, jedi dont like using the force all the time that would be too easy. :P
on this site i am looking for it talked about the oter colores to like purple, oringe, yellow and so on
if you find something let me know :P

i think i know what site your talking about.. but i dont knowthe link as of yet.. did it have stuff on it like the history of the lightsaber.. the 10 different styles.. and decapitaion methods and what they symbolize for a jedi?

ok... heres what i gathered

assuming all i read is right ive heard 2 things. which kinda go together

1. Saber colors symbolize your placement/connection to the force.

2. saber colors are ranking .

ex.
*Red- Users of the Dark Side (Darth Vader, Darth Maul)
*Green- New Users of the force (Young Obi Wan, Luke in Episode 5, Anakin in Episode 2)
*Blue- Established Users (Qui Gon, Old Obi Wan, Luke in Episode 6)

from what i read. Mace windu is a higher force user hence purple is his color.. i could be total BS on that.. but didnt yoda use green????

ok... then i would more safely say that the color of the blade has to do with your attachment to the force.

however.. i cant make sence besides of red being dark side... or warmer colors being darkside
but then purple would be considered dark side too.. and we know mace isnt darkside...

by the way... red crystalis a man made crystal made by the sith. when making it they are encouraged to concentrate all their hate into it as they are making it.

im having a hard time finding the info on meanings.. ive used yahoo using these keys

did leia have a red saber??


but anyway, i have dug and dug and found about the same, the site was nice, maybe it was closed down :/


it said that the Purple was lake the red but for strong jedi that could go either way. i do think it said the red cristal was man made now hat i think of it, but i fig diffren places will say difernt things :P


i did see somewere that a jedi that has been "tuched" by the Darkside uses green sabers and the more pure jedi use blue, and example was given, luck in ROTJ, was was going back and forth between dark and light at the end he stayd in the light but was tuched by the DS, same with QuiGone Jin, he know the DS and the controil it had over the repbulic. Obi Won was a Jedi BoyScout, so he used the blue saber.


I thought this was all intersting :P

the purple lightsaber was an actors chose and therefore not linked. Thought Mace Windo practises a lightsaber syle (vaapad or form VII) that leaves you dabbling in the darkside. He perfected the syle with another fedi who later was found to be a darkside spy. (read the documentation at www.starwars.com/databank.

yea i know lucas asked jackson if he wated blue or green, jackson asked if he could use purple, lucas sad ok, jacksaon said cool.


but for the has alwas been 6 colores and purple has alwas been part of them, example, look at DarkForces Jedi Knight, ther was purple and theat game came out way befor ep1 was relised.

Saber color symbolism is TOTAL BS. The blades color depends on the crystal used to contruct it! This is major stupidity that all Dark Side users use red sabers, because of their alignment! Every Jedi can wield a red saber, and every Sith can wield a blue one! Argh, do i hate this stereotype....

actually.. the red/bad thing has some truth to it


all the crystals are natural with the exception of the red one


Red blade crystals are actually man made crystals which are commonly made by sith.  the sith are encouraged to focus all their hatred and anger into the crystal while its being made in order to make it more personal to them


the artificial red blade sometimes has an advantage over natrual blade as sometimes it does tend to short out the saber of a natrual crystal user. 


this is what ive heard though in a few other www pages.. i believe the colors do have a certain symbolizm to them. but more along the line of the link of harmony in the force but thats my opinion :)

if you want to be real about it, when the movies were writen, lucas, had only, origenly two colores, Blue for the light side and Red for the dark side, then in RoTJ, lucas added the green one, to keep people hanging on witch side luke was on, thats also why he had the luke character wereing all black and using some DS powers like the choke, made populer by vader. it was not till some EU books and games came out when they added new saber colores.


BTW the symblism is more for people starting out with RPG-ish type games who's not to sure what colore blade to have.


also what DD said was also right, the red saber takes more use of the force to make then the blue and green sabers do, rember light jedi dont use the force unless they have to and dark jedi use it all the time for little things, like in EP2 anakin used the force to pick up a pear and slice it, he said "obiwon would be mad if he say me doing this" something like that.

thay didn't talk about all of them just yellow green and blue


yellow is the color of i think the jedi sentenel's(i dont think i spelled that right) thay combat the dark side and use the force and their saber's evenly green is the color of the jedi counseler(again i dont think i spelled that right)thay mainly use the force thay also use their saber but mostly the force 


blue is the color of the jedi guardian who mainly use's his/her saber and is all for combat against the dark side (closest to the dark side if you ask me)

How to phrase the KOTOR blade color symbolism.... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

They made it up 100% for the game. You can change the color anytime you want, no matter which proffesion you choose.

Speaking of KOTOR, it proves that red crystals ARENT artrificial, as you can find them in various caves, at a HUGE rate (say, 1 cave- 10 'good' crystals, 30 red crystals)
