another idea for a first mod

i'm thinking of making a gun mod (i know that those replace the normal gun's) do i just make a new model for the gun and then add in the stuff that you would a saber or is there *gasp*more

there is a menu for saber selection.. the problem with making a gun mod model is that you physically have to replace the model in game....   not knowing really how to do that.. i couldnt help you much on it.. sorry :(

Welcome to the nut house Kurse : ) Kurse is a member of my clan so I have to give him a hard time. You would think with all the rants I did on the clan site about me losing it trying to make my first hilt that would have discouraged him. Oh well........Kids today. Whatcha gonna do : )

Ill also be one of the peopel to say.. modeling a hilt may seem easy at first.. but its actually difficult till you get it done the first time.. then its all about just making a model.. with the same sab files.. until you learn a new tidbit and use it in the next saber.. and so on and so on.. im not a good modeler at all.. i use basic shapes and rely more on my skinning to do the work for me..  (as you can tell in some of my work)  but once i learn something new.. i try and use it to my advantage.  LOL you should have seen how freaked i was when i learned how to extrude a line made shape.. i damn near creamed cause i could finally do a damn good sword without having to take a box or cylinder and have to edit it to the shape i liked..  (which is a pain in the ass and is also the reason why my revolver saber looks like crap! ) 


just never let anything discourage you..  theres usualy always a way to do something you wanna do!  you just need to have the right person to teach you how to do it.!    


my next hopeful step is how to make real detail .. like faces and things like that so i could do the advanced models people are requesting..  dragon heads.. snake heads.. skulls.. i cant do it with my current self taught modeling skills.. 


oh well.. LOL im off to watch toxic avenger 4 : last temptation of toxie.... ahhhh... true mastery of the film those tromateam people are..
